Coastal Rowing Force
Rowing unleashed - Rowing to adventure
Adventure on the Open Water
Coastal rowing with RowVista® offers a unique opportunity to navigate dynamic waters,
from serene bays to more challenging coastal conditions.
Wild Water Rowing
Coastal rowing is the wild water variant of rowing, typically practiced on open seas, rough waters, or busy rivers and lakes.
Easy & Exciting
Beginners and pros of all ages can enjoy rowing with minimal technical knowledge. Even with basic skills and little effort, high speeds and rewarding experience can be achieved.
Recreational & Competitive
Coastal rowing is gaining popularity for its exciting nature experience and comprehensive fitness benefits. It can be pursued both recreationally and competitively, even at the world championship level. Coastal rowing with the RowVista® forward-facing rowing system offers essential advantages, whether in the Beach Sprint or Endurance discipline. The precise steering and improved orientation allow for more direct navigation to the buoys, while the unobstructed view of other coastal rowing boats significantly reduces the risk of collisions. Maintaining a straighter course also helps save valuable seconds – a crucial advantage in competition.
Secure Adventure
Our coastal rowing boards, featuring two side air chambers, provide enhanced stability and safety, allowing you to confidently row through diverse water conditions. Whether you're uncovering hidden coves or cruising along the coastline, RowVista® ensures a secure and enjoyable adventure, giving you the freedom to explore the open water with peace of mind.
Dynamic & Rewarding
A new dimension of rowing emerges as coastal rowers intentionally navigate waves and rough waters, enhancing the thrill instead of staying on calm, flat surfaces.
Perfect for All Levels
Coastal rowing offers a smooth entry for beginners while still challenging seasoned rowers. With its intuitive design and natural flow, it’s easy to start, yet provides endless opportunities to refine technique, build strength, and embrace new challenges on the water.

Something about the sliding rigger:
Sliding rigger versus sliding seat
We are often asked whether RowMotion® could be equipped with a sliding rigger instead of a sliding seat. In traditional rowing, such as with our RowMotion®, the sliding rigger is often preferred because it causes less torso movement and reduces bobbing or pitching (the up-and-down movement of the bow and stern due to weight shifts). This may be relevant for short boats, but for rowing boats longer than 15 feet, pitching is hardly noticeable.
One disadvantage of the sliding rigger is that part of the power transfer depends on the friction between the seat surface and the rower’s buttocks. On longer tours, this – believe it or not – can lead to blisters in places where you definitely don’t want them.
While the sliding rigger offers slight performance advantages, it requires a more complex and expensive construction. This makes the boats more costly and was one of the reasons why the sliding rigger disappeared from competitive rowing.
For recreational use, the sliding rigger is offered by the Canadian company White Hall Rowing and Sailing, which uses cost-effective slide bearings instead of roller bearings in their OAR BOARD. Additionally, the Chinese manufacturer WINTECH offers a simple sliding rigger with roller bearings.
